This 1981 Guild G-37 BLD is a beautifully built American-made acoustic that represents Guild’s golden-era craftsmanship, finished in Blonde (BLD) and fitted with distinctive double pickguards that make this example stand out.
Bold, powerful, and built for players who demand projection and clarity, the G-37 delivers the kind of full, authoritative tone Guild dreadnoughts are famous for.
The solid spruce top paired the arched, maple back and sides produces a rich, balanced voice with deep lows, clear highs, and a strong, piano-like midrange that holds together under heavy strumming while still responding beautifully to fingerstyle work. The large-body design moves plenty of air, making this an ideal guitar for singer-songwriters, flatpickers, and players who want a big, confident acoustic sound. The neck profile is comfortable and familiar, and the guitar plays easily up and down the fretboard.
The entire guitar is in beautiful shape, as are the frets and fretboard. The truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments. The bridge has been reglued at some point, and it was professionally done. There are no issues with the guitar whatsoever, and the neck set is good.
The case is a well-fitted, modern Fender hard case.
As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally set up to play its absolute best.
