This vintage Gibson ES-335TD in factory black finish bears a serial number that can only be narrowed down to a range of possible production years - 1970 through 1975. 

Some clues exist to narrow that range.  In 1975, Gibson changed to maple necks, and this guitar's neck is the more desirable mahogany.  In 1972, Gibson installed pickups that were embossed with their logo in the chrome covers.

The pickups are original "tarbacks" - their backs are coated with epoxy from the factory.  Use of these pickups began in late 1972.  

Gibson production totals exist for this period, and they show that there were no black ES-335s made from 1970 through the end of 1973.  Summing this all up, this is undoubtedly a 1974 model.

I tried reading the date codes on the pots, but they're impossible to read.  

The guitar has been played and shows wear on the front, back, and back of the neck - honest play wear with no signs of abuse.  There is even fret wear up the neck, showing that someone with some skill enjoyed the guitar.  The frets have lots of life left, and the wear isn't localized to the lower register, contributing to the overall playability of the guitar.

We were able to get this beauty dialed in quicky.  It set up quite nicely.  There is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.

All the parts are original, and there are no breaks or repiars.

There are two shipping cost options for purchases made on our site for these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas.  Select Standard shipping at checkout and your item will be shipped via UPS three-day-air.  Select Economy shipping and your item will ship via UPS ground.  For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for these Eastern states and shipment will be made by UPS three-day-air.  Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
