This 1965 Fender Super Reverb is one of the most iconic 60s-era amplifiers ever produced, delivering the powerful clean headroom, shimmering highs, and lush onboard effects that defined the golden age of Fender tone. With its 40-watt tube output section and four 10-inch speakers, the Super Reverb produces a huge, room-filling sound that has made it a favorite of blues, rock, and soul players for decades.

Tonally, the Super Reverb is legendary for its rich, piano-like low end, articulate mids, and glassy high-end sparkle. The four-speaker configuration gives it exceptional punch and projection while maintaining clarity even at higher volumes. As the amp is pushed, it transitions into warm, harmonically rich breakup that remains dynamic and responsive to picking intensity and guitar volume adjustments. The onboard tube-driven reverb is deep, and the optical tremolo adds classic swirling modulation that has appeared on countless recordings.

This one sounds awesome!  Keep reading to see how I made this amp rock solid with $100s worth of upkeep.

It hit the bench for a deep inspection.  While I was at it, I cleaned  the pots, jacks, and tube sockets.  I changed out the filter caps, coupling caps, and the bias cap, hiding them in the original cardboard sheaths.  The power cable was switched out for a grounded one.

The transformers are all original.  Three of the speakers are original CTS ceramic magnets - the codes are hidden under the Fender labels.  The fourth is a 1969 CTS alnico, and they're all in great shape.

The tubes were all tested.  All but one of the preamp tubes are original RCA tubes with Fender logos.  The power tubes and rectifier tubes are brand new JJs.

Yeah, its big and a bit heavy, but there is simply nothing else like a Super Reverb!

As with all amplifiers at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure dependable performance.

Shipping policy:

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  These cases require the buyer to re-install them on delivery - it is very easy with this amp, and we label them so you know exactly where to put them.  We remove the chassis of amps with heavy transformers and ship them separately as their weight can distort the chassis if the box is dropped in shipping.  These cases require customers to reassemble amps.  It also costs us more.  The shipping cost is higher as a result.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
