Martin made just 223 000-21 guitars in 1947, the highest production year for the model.

I have to say that this is the nicest one on the market currently, and we've done all the work to make it immediately enjoyable.

This 1947 Martin 000-21 is a rare post-war acoustic guitar that embodies the golden era of Martin craftsmanship. Featuring a solid Brazilian rosewood back and sides, a Sitka spruce top, and a 12-fret mahogany neck with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, this 000-size flat-top offers the warm, articulate, and balanced tone that has made vintage Martins legendary.

We just got the guitar back from our luthier, who re-set the neck, performed a sweet refret, and installed a new saddle.  The original bridge had a slight lift, so it was expertly re-glued.  The original bridge plate is intact.  This one even has the original case!

The guitar is in excellent cosmetic condition.  It also sounds beautifully open, like it was played regularly before it showed up here.

There is only one very small repaired top crack that is virtually invisible.  You can see the two cleats inside the guitar in the many pictures we posted.

The 000-21 is prized for its mid-size body, delivering exceptional projection and clarity while remaining comfortable to play. This 1947 example retains its original character, with vintage patina and tonal maturity that can’t be replicated. The small appointments—tortoise-style binding, herringbone "zipper" down the back center seam, original open-back tuners, and understated rosette—reflect the refined simplicity of the era.

A sought-after instrument for both players and collectors, this Martin 000-21 from 1947 is a stunning piece of acoustic guitar history—one that’s becoming harder to find in original, playable condition.
