This Fender neck came in on a guitar with parts from the late 50s to mid 60s.
It has a slab Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and a 1959 profile - a comfortable .81" depth at the 1st fret.
The neck has seen some work. Tuners were once changed to Schallers. The screw holes were filled nicely and the pots holes were reverted to the size of vintage Klusons. The work was professionally done. The tuner bushings look correct for the year.
A sweet refret was performed at some point and a bone nut installed. The neck played beautifully on the guitar when it arrived, and the truss rod was tested to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.
The neck was on some other guitar at some point, requiring different mounting holes on the back of the neck heel. These holes were also filled.
The truss rod nut is original. The neck was refinished along the way, leaving the 7.25" radius and clay dots intact. The headstock is the correct thickness. Edges were not visibly sanded during the refinish process.
I've compared this neck to all resources I have available to me for date verification. First, the guitar had a 1959 neck plate and screws. I've sold several 1959 Fenders and the profile and neck thickness match nicely when comparing specs and pictures of the sold guitars. The space between the 12th fret dots is correct. The way the truss rod nut intersects the slab board is correct. The board is a beautiful piece of Brazilian. The dots are definitely original.
Whether you’re restoring a vintage Stratocaster or Telecaster, or building a custom project guitar, this neck provides period-correct authenticity with player-friendly reliability.
