Fender 1956 Tweed Bandmaster 5E7 Recovered and Restored, Good

This Fender 1956 Tweed Bandmaster 5E7 in tweed is a player's example of the legendary 3x10 Bandmaster  I purchased this amp from the original owner several months ago.  It needed some work, but now it is a killer - an amp that gives you the best tweed overdrive available.

This 26-watt 5E7 Bandmaster has been recovered in leather with the back panels retaining the original tweed.  The grille on the front and back panel are changed. The original chassis, pine cabinet, baffle, knobs and potentiometers remain. The handle was changed ages ago.  The cabinet, baffle, and back panels are original.

It carries three original Jensen P10R speakers (code 220, date code 541). Two were freshly reconed.  The power and choke transformers are original Triads, but the output transformer has been replaced with a Mojotone unit.  The output transformers in this model are almost never present.  The original was undersized in the original design, and the speaker impedance worked against it, causing most to fail.

The circuit was serviced.  All the original electrolytic caps were changed. Yellow Astron caps, also prone to failure after all these years, have been updated with high-quality Jupiter replacements.  A nice array of tested, vintage, US made tubes are included: RCA 5U4 rectifier, Phillips 6L6 power tubes, and 12AX7 and Sylvania 12AY7 preamp tubes.
