ESP LTD 2014 EC-401VF Amber Flame Excellent

The ESP LTD EC-401VF is the flamed maple top version of the EC-401 — a Les Paul format instrument built on ESP's EC platform with the mahogany body and neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, and gold hardware that define the single-cutaway aesthetic. The top is really nice on this one, enhanced by the perfect sunburst.  The 14" fingerboard radius and thin U neck profile at .815" at the first fret and .940" at the twelfth are the modern playability specifications that separate the EC platform from vintage-inspired instruments — flatter radius, slimmer neck, designed for fast playing across the full range rather than period-accurate character.

The guitar has been upgraded with Sperzel locking tuners.  The original tuner mounting screw holes have been filled, as seen on in the pics. Sperzel locking tuners are a widely respected upgrade for tuning stability, and the modification is a practical improvement. The bridge humbucker reads a hot 13.69k, while the neck humbucker reads 8.61k, a more moderate voicing that provides a warmer and more articulate complement in the neck position. Gold hardware throughout including Tune-o-matic bridge, stop bar tailpiece, pickup covers, and output jack plate. Pearl flag inlays on the rosewood fingerboard, GraphTech nut, 3-way toggle. Action set at 2/32" on both strings at the twelfth fret. Very good to excellent condition. No case — we will pack carefully for shipping.

There are a few dings here and there - see pics.  The frets show little wear.  The guitar set up perfectly with little effort.  There is room in the truss rod for future neck relief adjustments.
