This DW Collector’s Series Jazz Snare in Pale Blue Oyster delivers boutique-level craftsmanship, warm vintage tone, and the unmistakable dynamic response of DW’s high-end Jazz shell construction. Built with a thin maple/gum shell inspired by the great jazz snares of the 1950s–60s, this drum offers exceptional sensitivity, a buttery midrange, and a musical, controlled attack that works beautifully for jazz, fusion, studio work, and any style needing expressive nuance.

The Pale Blue Oyster wrap adds a classic, retro aesthetic while DW’s premium hardware ensures rock-solid tuning stability and resonance. True-Pitch tension rods, MAG throw-off, and DW’s precision bearing edges give this snare the feel and reliability that touring and session drummers expect from the top tier of American drum craftsmanship.

DW’s Collector’s Series—played by drummers such as Neil Peart, Dave Grohl, Sheila E., and Aaron Spears—has long been regarded as one of the finest handmade drum lines in the world. The Jazz Series subset is especially prized for its vintage-inspired sound and boutique shell construction, making this snare a standout for players who want warmth, articulation, and musicality in a premium instrument.

This example is in excellent condition and includes a fitted bag. At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every piece of gear is inspected, photographed accurately, and described honestly.
