This Don Musser OM Style Handmade Acoustic Guitar (2010) represents the pinnacle of boutique acoustic craftsmanship. Known for supplying fine instruments to discerning players and collectors alike - folks like Tom Petty, Eddie Van Halen, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young —Musser guitars are renowned for their exceptional tonal balance, meticulous hand construction, and premium tonewood selection. This near mint example features a Brazilian Rosewood back and sides paired with a premium spruce top, delivering the rich overtones, clarity, and projection that only the finest materials can achieve.

Don has been called the Dumble of Acoustic Guitars.  He is a stealthy source for the highest end products - he doesn't advertise - he doesn't even have a website!

His production levels are low! “These days I’m still making guitars on commission, but I’m also selling guitars that I build for my own interest and enjoyment,” he tells us. “I used to make eight to 12 per year, but these days it’s more like five or six and I’m slower and more deliberate. If anything bothers me, I’ll just redo it. I’ve always been perfectionistic and now that I don’t have financial pressures, I’m even more so.

This particular guitar was made by Don for a fundraiser.  There is a long, photo copied letter included, written by Don himself, describing the guitar.

This is a beautiful piece with a stellar voice.  It plays perfectly and shows only light signs of handling and light checking in the finish on the top of the guitar.

The OM (Orchestra Model) body shape provides a perfect balance of resonance and articulation, making it ideal for fingerstyle players while still offering plenty of volume for strummers. Every detail reflects Musser’s dedication to heirloom-quality instruments, from the hand-carved bracing to the flawless finish work. This guitar comes complete with its original hard case, ensuring both protection and collectability.

For those seeking a world-class Brazilian Rosewood acoustic guitar, this Don Musser OM Style is a rare opportunity to own a truly elite, handmade instrument. Its versatility, craftsmanship, and scarcity make it a standout addition to any collection.
