Here we have a 2007 Gibson Les Paul R9, originally ordered by Willcutt Guitars.  Willcutt had this LP (and others) aged by Chad Underwood - a boutique guitar builder.  He did a great job of tastefully and accurately distressing the guitar without making it look like it is trying too hard to be vintage.

The Gibson Historic certificate of authenticity is included.  There is an additional cert relating to Underwood's work on the guitar.

The faded tobacco burst suits the figured top nicely.  With the ageing, it has quite the authentic look.  The fretboard must be Madagascar rosewood - it looks very much like Brazilian, with that chocolate color and black, spidery grain.  Its a really nice piece of wood.

When we received the guitar, it was fitted with a set of Vintage Inspired pots.  A previous owner must have been a bit ham-handed.  They broke the lead off of one of the original bumble bee caps, and they did an un-admirable soldering job on the new harness, topping the work off with just one Vintage Inspired tone capacitor.

We got into the guitar and found that they'd ruined two of the Vintage Inspired pots with their errant soldering, so we replaced those with the original Gibson pots that were in the case and soldered in the remaining bumble bee cap.  The original parts are in the case.  The guitar sounds great now!

The ABR-1 bridge is a replacement, presumably added in the relic process as it is aged like the lightweight tailpiece as the original ABR-1 is in the case.

This one is a great player as well.  The frets are in excellent condition and it set up perfectly with a set of 10-46 strings.  The truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.

The original case is included, rounding out this future classic.
