That PCM-based architecture gives it a distinctly bright, punchy character across its kit sounds — the kick and snare samples carry a crisp, defined transient response that reflects the design priorities of that era of electronic percussion production.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe TR-505 is part of Roland's Rhythm Composer family and was positioned as an affordable, pattern-based drum machine with a range of preset PCM drum sounds including kick, snare, hi-hats, cymbals, and Latin percussion voices. It features a 16-step pattern sequencer, accent and shuffle controls, and MIDI in\/out\/through, making it useful both as a standalone rhythm source and as part of a larger MIDI setup.
