What a beauty! This guitar plays wonderfully and has the balance you can expect from this size and format.
A rare model, made more rare with the shaded top. This'll be one that will be missed when it's gone.
Martin designed these Women and Music (WAM) limited edition guitars for just 5 years. The goal was to raise both awareness and funds for breast cancer while designing a guitar with parlor attributes for comfort and play-ability, but dreadnaught sounds. The result is astounding.
This limited edition model is a 1999 00C-16DB, # 92 of just 99 made. Features a dreadnaught depth in an 00 body, scalloped bracing, and a 14 fret neck with a slotted head-stock and a cutaway. The angle of the headstock and string break across the nut is higher than a solid headstock. This increases downward pressure on the nut and with it, sustain and volume. Add the full 25.4"scale with scalloped braces and you get more volume.
This edition has a silky Sitka top over tropical true mahogany, with a double bound white-black-white binding and the signature inlaid rosette only for these models. The rosette design is complimented in the matching back-stripe inlay. The sound is deep, very clear, incredibly loud and pure Martin
