Gibson acoustics from this period are known to have issues with the tortoise binding around the top and back.  That is the case with this guitar.  The binding has fully let go and is crumbling away throughout.

Otherwise, the guitar is in great condition, cosmetically and functionally, and it sounds really good too.  It will need to have the binding replaced to be enjoyed however.

The original case was subject to some water damage and is in touch shape at the lower bout area.  The guitar appears to have been subject to some of this moisture, resulting only in some discoloration to the finish.

Original tuners are in place.  Frets are in good condition.  The neck angle is good.  The truss rod was tested and is functional.  It will be a very useable guitar when restored, and it is playable and works just fine as-is.
