This is the best Fender knock-off I've run across - a replica of Keith Richards' famous Micawber Tele with nearly every cosmetic feature of his guitar represented.
The neck humbucker is a Gibson 490 humbucker in the neck and a Fender Custom Shop bridge pickup, it has all the tone. There's just something about a Tele with a humbucker in the neck position!
The neck is just about the fattest I've come across, so if you like thin necks this is definitely not the guitar for you, but keep in mind that it is a soft V profile, so dimensions are thicker as a result. Fans of the baseball bat neck will be in heaven, and the worn/aged feel of this one is perfect. The black dot that is missing on the fretboard is another nod to Keith's actual guitar.
The locking tuners and bridge are also reminiscent of the original Micawber, and though the bridge adds some weight, it does seem that it adds sustain, though the woods this guitar is made out of are helping as well. Even with the brass bridge, the guitar weighs in at just 7lb 9oz.
The finish, logo, pickguard, bridge - everything is really well aged, especially when viewed from the front. The back is perhaps a bit over-relic'd, but I'm imagining that Keif's guitar is trashed there as well.
The guitar is so fun to play, the tone is awesome, and if you're into the relic look, this is definitely one to check out.
My understanding is that the neck and body are Musikraft made. Who assembled the guitar is a mystery, but they used the highest quality parts throughout and took great care to nitro finish and age it just so.
Included is a tweed Fender case.
