The 4-stage mode sounds nearly equivalent to a favorite script-style MXR Phase 90, except the Moonbeam's 4-stage mode is capable of that and much more — minimum depth settings make it ideal for players who rarely switch their phasers off, generating subtle animation that enlivens arpeggios, leads, and simple strumming. Higher depth settings help the Moonbeam approximate a Small Stone's color switch mode, as well as a fast-pulsing Leslie speaker. The FREQ control ranges from ultra-slow 0.006Hz harmonic drifts to lightning-fast 130Hz sweeps — a genuinely enormous modulation range that spans from imperceptibly slow ambient movement to ring-modulator territory. Color-coded LED feedback displays the active stage and tracks the modulation in real time.
