Bay State Style R Parlor Guitar 1891-1895 SALE

This Bay State parlor guitar is a beautiful, repair-free piece.  There are no cracks anywhere on the guitar, which is really remarkable given its age.  

It is the only one like it I've seen with the mahogany back and sides, described on www.baystateguitar.com as "Style R - Same as Style E with mahogany back and sides - 1 registered".  There are over 30 rosewood style Rs registered on that website.    

The guitar does need a neck reset.  If it stays for a while we'll probably send it off to get it done.   Even so, it sounds really, really good with the new nylon strings we added - a very surprising, warm and resonant tone.  

The only change is one bridge pin, which we were able to replace with a period correct, pearl inlaid one like the others thanks to our deep and random parts stash.  

The guitar came to us with no case.  A recent chip case is included, mostly to aid a bit in shipping.  Rest assured that the guitar will be packed extremely well and will arrive safely.

Shipping policy:

Three day UPS air shipments will be automatic for buyers including these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas.  Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 2% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
