Bacon & Day Silverbell #2 Tenor Banjo - 1924 Silver Bell

While we don't necessarily seek them out, some cool banjos do find their way to us, like this beautiful Bacon Silverbell did during a recent guitar show.
This example of the Silver Bell shows beautiful neck carving and a highly flamed resonator. The instrument is in great shape, especially when considering that it is nearly 100 years old.
I assume that the frets must have been changed at some point because the banjo has been played, however it was well cared for. The tailpiece is changed to a Paramount 5 string unit, which works quite well. This appears to be the only hardware change. It will need a new set of strings - the set on the banjo is not in great shape.
The neck plays very well with no issues. There are no cracks or nasty repairs. It is a very serviceable instrument that will serve you well for another 100 years.
