This 000 was built the year I was born, which makes it pretty old now - something my kids like to point out.

Old is good however, and in this case it is pretty splendid.  This guitar has seen plenty of play, something that I firmly believe is a benefit with acoustics in general and Martins in particular.  I've always noticed when we get old Martins that they sometimes seem to be "asleep" until I play them for a while.  This one is awake!  It is full and punchy sounding with a voice that is bigger than the size implies and it sustains forever.

The neck feels amazing thanks to the honest play wear.  It is a chunky one too.  The frets have been replaced at some point, and the job was done well.  This is obvious in that the fretboard shows some divots here and there, but the frets are full with plenty of life left.

The tuners have been changed to Schallers - the older style that say Made in West Germany on the back.  Original tuber screw holes were filled.  A strap button was added to the treble side of the neck heel, where just the button's screw remains.  The original pickguard is still in place, without the classic "pickguard crack" in the top of the guitar.

The original bridge remains, as well as the original bridge plate under the top.  The bridge does appear to have been re-glued to the top.  The saddle is low - one day the guitar will need a neck reset.

There are several repaired cracks.  The top seam was glued from the bridge to the endpin.  There is a somewhat substantial ding on the lower part of the guitar - you can see it in the pic that shows the endpin.  There are three repaired cracks on the back, the bass side lower bout area.  All crack repairs are stable.  The endpin has been changed, and a hole near it that probably served as an output jack hole has been filled.

Comes with a recent Martin hardshell case.
