The 90s was a VERY good time for Gibson. After the dark ages of the 70's came to a close, Gibson slowly started the return to their roots in the late 80's, starting with the Heritage series Flying Vs, Explorers and Modernes (we have a Moderne from this series on the website).  The ES-335 Dot Neck Reissues came next, another step in the right direction.
The 90s brought forth some of the nicest woods that Gibson has ever used since the 50s. Many fans call the early 90s Les Paul’s to be from the “Good Wood Era.” Customs from this time period sometimes have explosive looking flame tops and the sound, playability and feel are all exceptional. If you’ve never had a 90s Gibson, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
Weighing in @ an even 10lbs, this custom is a player.  It was sent back to Gibson to have the factory neck professionally replaced in 1995 w/a factory new one (Gibson also replaced the pots for some reason, as noted on the Gibson Factory repair sheet).  We assume that the original neck warped and required replacement.  There is a Gibson repair sheet in the case that illustrates the work performed.
Besides the slightly darker appearance of the black finish directly around the neck/body joint. It's so hard to see, that I had to photograph the area with a black light, just too get a decent picture. Oh...and check out that 7-ply top binding, so sweet!  Overall the guitar is in near mint condition and, in our eyes, is no worse for wear after the warranty work - it might even be better for it!
