The CRS model is a limited edition from Gibson in 1979 - only 300 were produced. This example is very near mint.  This guitar was part of an estate sale in which several guitars were found that had been stored since they were new.

The guitar appears to be all original, though other examples we see do have the TP6 stop tail piece with micro tuners.  The stop bar on this model appears original, and given the story we have no reason to believe that it isn't.  Other than that possible discrepancy, there are no repairs or changes to the guitar.

The instrument plays perfectly with low action and killer tone.  Don't let the stereo situation scare you.  Using the output jack nearest the strap button on the lower bout gives you the standard ES-335 tone and output.

The switch on the treble-side horn is a coil tap, giving a bunch of extra tonal options.  Furthermore, the controls allow you to blend with one knob between the two pickups when in the middle position.  This allows for full blending from one pickup to the other, and any variation in between.  Typical 335 controls allow you to blend in a sense, but if you dump one volume too far, you lose all output - not so here!  While the controls look off putting to those who are used to Gibson controls, it really feels natural and in a way it makes more sense.

All told, this is a great investment piece, based on the rarity of the model, the clean condition, killer tone and playability.

A 2000s era case is included with the guitar.
