I have had my eye out for one of these Morgan amps for some time. A recent trade scratched the itch.
I plugged in last night and was definitely not disappointed. This amp absolutely rips with big, full, glassy EL84 tone.
I left the power scaling control wide open and let it fly. The amp just sang! It simply sounds bigger than it looks and feels, so it'll definitely be suited to gigging, even with a loud band.
It holds up really well at lower volumes as well, and both the clean and dirty tones are completely useable. The power knob is a trip. It brings some focus in a way. It doesn't necessarily change the tone, at least not in a bad way, and it is really useful to clamp the amp down to super low levels if needed.
The amp is beautiful to look at as well, inside and out. Check the wiring - the amp is obviously really well built!
