This 1978 Colorsound Flanger is a rare and beautifully preserved example of one of the earliest analog flangers ever produced.
Hand-built in London by Sola Sound, the same company behind the legendary Tone Bender fuzz, this pedal embodies the warm, swirling modulation and thick texture that defined 1970s psychedelic and progressive rock tones. The original analog bucket-brigade circuitry provides deep, musical sweep and a smooth, organic response unlike any modern digital recreation.
The control layout features Speed, Depth, and Manual knobs that allow for everything from subtle chorus-like shimmer to dramatic jet-engine swoosh effects. The large, distinctive enclosure and period-correct graphics are iconic of the era, and this example remains in excellent condition with only minor cosmetic wear. It has been tested and operates flawlessly—a must-have for collectors and vintage tone purists.
At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every pedal is inspected, photographed accurately, and tested thoroughly.
